What is Someone Jesus Loves?
A blog by someone Jesus loves for someone Jesus loves.
Everyone desires to be loved.
To be accepted.
To be seen by others.
To be known.
This is how God made us. He created us to receive love from Him and give love in response. It’s in our DNA. We will never be happy, never be fulfilled, and never be complete until we know ourselves to be deeply loved and, in return, love deeply.
Through suffering, joy, and a lot of grace, I have come to find that in Christ, there is a love for which every one of us was created. Jesus Christ is love—He was given up for us so that we might know Him. I pray that truth will press onto each of our hearts until it finds a permanent place there.
My life has been a difficult journey of coming to “know and rely on the love God has for us.” I hope these writings and messages, though imperfect, will offer encouragement and hope to those who desire to do the same. To be clear, I’m not a pastor or a seminary graduate. But I have encountered the love of God in Christ, and I would love to tell you about it. I also write to remind myself of what is true, because I am all too prone to forget what Jesus has done for me. My hope and prayer are that you and I both would come to know ourselves as the disciple John knew himself–as someone Jesus loved (John 13:23). I truly believe His presence and love is the thing we all long for.
Find out for yourself.
Happy reading.

How this website is formatted
I made this website to be a collection of my work up to this point. I’ve divided it into sections to (hopefully) make navigating the website simple:
Blogs consist of what we normally think of as blog posts. These are going to be longer than Shorts, but not as formal as Essays.
Shorts are just short blog posts. This form was born out of Instagram captions. I found that people are way more likely to read an Instagram caption than follow a link to a blog, so I adjusted my efforts to accommodate the modern trends. It turns out, that people like to read stuff that isn’t very long. If that’s you, check out Shorts.
Essays are things I have written in more formal settings, namely the classroom. These are way too long to be Shorts but really don’t feel like Blogs either. Essays will mostly consist of Articles and actual Essays I have written.
Sermons are pretty straightforward. I have tried to provide a YouTube link and a podcast link, but for some I’ve only had one or the other.
